Till I

No hesitation

or pause

Just the bliss

of love’s high

cost

A thrill again

For now

and when

he loves me

till I

drop

Voyage

Think all things lovely
Face so sweet
‘Round the world
None else for me

Armor for Axe

Heart long slighted
Grace bent far
Dawn now rising
Shaped like scars

Worst doing done
Apex of harm
Trust low trampled
Promises gone

Forgive, no, never.”
Pain so screams
Spewed from pride
Not bowing knees

“Vengeance is Mine,”
Bellows the Lord
Lay away your every sword.
Lose your thorny axe
of spite. Turn your eyes
on your own night.
Sweep the web
of grudge employed.
Trust My time to fill
your joy.
Don My peace
Slay all fear
Let your cries rest
in My ear
.”

Sovereign Loss

A simple prayer
A desperate task
Through stormy clouds
to Heav’n I ask
“Lord give me peace,
help me stand,
with what You’ve taken
from my hand.”

Drops

Village of two
Joy and Dread
“Looks like rain,”
Dread then said

“Glee be mine,”
Joy looked up
“Wait no more,
Fill my cup.”

Purpose wondering

No royal genealogy
To my name

Vivid prose
Moot to fame

Wild streak
Fallen tame

Brilliance only
in
love’s wry game

This one day

This one day
Fate made sense
Lucid joy
or accident?

Peering trust
Take a seat
Feel around
Smother grief

Hope rise higher
Doubt a liar
Strength made strong
In the fire

Scars like quills
Tears of ink
Pen your tale
Horizon deep

Glimpse of fate
That starry day
Taste of maybe
Soothe my ache

This one day
Fate made sense
Lucid joy
or accident?

Silent stairway

A distant you do I ascend
Hilltop cry, ears now bend
Ne’er alone, I say with dare
Soulish needs, prayers crack air

John.14.1

Why taste tomor-
row’s
savor
of trouble-
some flavor
when to-
morrow
may feel more
like
bliss
with a peace-
ful
kiss
after all?

Let not
your heart
be troub-
led,
Okay?

A poem of Thanksgiving comfort

I wrote this poem this morning in thinking about the different emotions Thanksgiving may conjure for some. To all, the holidays are not celebratory, but as the years pass, hopefully joy will build momentum and eventually lead to peace.

AUTUMN HEALING

Golden day
Autumn healing
Blessed year
Now revealing

Sow for hope
In the longest night
Holiday chances
None so bright

Thankful soil
Harvest bloom
Laughter true
Birthing soon

Family gathering
Kisses splattering
One seat empty
Nervous chattering

Field of loss
Whispering grief
Aroma spilling
Memories brief

Hands a-holding
Prayers a-saying
Adoring hearts
Softly playing

Joy cast far
Love brought near
A golden day
A blessed year
